But A Beautiful One is Kenny Arbuckle’s debut album, and it took a lot of work to develop these songs to the place they ended up. Kenny originally demoed all the tracks himself, using just acoustic guitar and vocals. I helped arrange the songs, guiding them toward their final form. I envisioned an alternative folk sound, akin to artists like Andy Shauf or Sufjan Stevens, and aimed for the arrangements to reflect that. I played many instruments on this record and enlisted the talents of my friends: Zac Lijewski on fiddle, Craig Abraham on flute, saxophone, and clarinet, and Adrianna Noone for additional vocal harmonies. The rest was performed by Kenny and me!
